New Gesa Credit Union WHS and WestSide branded credit card partnership

Gesa, a community-chartered credit union, today announced a partnership with Wenatchee Public Schools to launch a fundraising program benefitting Wenatchee High School and WestSide High School through two new co-branded debit cards. Each time a Co-Branded Affinity Debit Card is used, Gesa will make a donation to both high schools to support academic, athletic, and extracurricular programs.

“Our partnership with Gesa's debit card program is truly a win-win,” said Diana Haglund, Communications Director of Wenatchee School District. “Gesa is helping us boost affinity for WestSide and Wenatchee High School in our community and at the same time filling funding gaps in our athletics and Associated Student Body programs to ensure equitable access for students."

To date, Gesa’s Co-Branded Affinity Debit Cards have raised over $750,000 for high school  students statewide with over $266,000 awarded in 2021 alone. “Supporting our school districts, educators and students is something we’re incredibly passionate about here at Gesa. We’re thankful to our members who have embraced this program and have accompanied us in our mission of giving back to the community,” said Don Miller, President and CEO of Gesa Credit Union. “With no costs to the cardholder and our members, it’s truly an effortless way to make an impact in the community and support our students.”

Gesa’s Co-Branded Affinity Debit Card Program supports local schools by earning money for partner districts each time a card is used. The donations help fundprograms such as DECA,  music, FBLA, FFA, and more. The program has also recently funded technology needs as school districts grapple with online learning and equipment upgrades.

Gesa members can switch to a Co-Branded Affinity Debit Card at no cost and can
request a card by mail, or in-person for instant issue at any branch location. The cards are free to Gesa members with a checking account and there is no fee for members to switch their card to any of the designs offered.
