Advanced Floral Class Partners with Confluence Health

Advanced Floral Class Partners with Confluence Health

If you take a trip to the Expressions Gift Shop at the Central Washington Hospital, you might see some of the hard work of Wenatchee High School floriculture students. Confluence Health recently purchased floral arrangements from students in the Advanced Floral class to supply the hospital gift shop.

This is the first time the floral program at WHS has partnered with an outside group to provide flower arrangements to the community. Confluence Health has not had flowers available in its gift shop for a few years, and reached out to program instructor Hannah Schneider hoping to be able to offer arrangements in-house again.

“I am very excited for this opportunity,” Scheider said of the partnership. “It is great for my students to have real clients to design flowers for, meet price points, and make deliveries. We are looking forward to serving the community and bringing joy to hospital patients and staff.”

The floral program, a part of WHS CTE and FFA, is in its second year and has already made a name for itself through its fundraising efforts. The class has created an array of wreaths and floral arrangements to raise money and awareness for the program.
