Senior Melani Tovar speaks to a tour group about the 70's era construction of WHS.
The community-driven design process for a new Wenatchee High School is moving fast — and this week was one of the busiest yet.
On Wednesday, the WHS Staff Design Advisory Committee met with architects from Integrus Architecture and educational specialists from Teater Crocker to dig into building priorities. That same evening, the district opened WHS doors to the public for the first of two community open houses, giving residents a firsthand look at the building and the opportunity to weigh in on what matters most.
Thursday brought even more momentum: the WHS Student Design Advisory Committee met to engage directly in the design work, and the full 40-member Design Advisory Committee held its third of six scheduled meetings.
Community voices are shaping this project at every level — from students to staff to neighbors.
