Four Wenatchee High School students took Best of Show in the 37th Annual Regional Art Show. Works by senior Isa Bekker, senior Jesse Cadenas, sophomore Jacob Fyffe and junior Paige Maray Kirschner were selected as Best of Show. See photos on Facebook.
A representative from the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction will present awards to the students at Wenatchee Valley Museum and Cultural Center this Saturday, March 12.
A total of fourteen pieces were chosen as “Best of Show,” and those works will move on to Olympia and be displayed at the Superintendent's High School Art Show, April 4–June 2, 2016. High school students throughout Chelan, Douglas and Okanogan counties submit work for this show.
Other Wenatchee High School artists include senior Tommy Walters, who took third in Decorative Arts, and junior Rylie Sweem in Printmaking.
The show opens to the public this Friday, 5 to 8 p.m., during Wenatchee First Friday.The Reception and Awards Ceremony is on March 12, Saturday, 1 to 3 p.m. The art show will be displayed through April 23.
The judges for the show were Cynthia Neely, Artist and Author from Leavenworth; Ron Evans, Artist and owner of RadarStation Gallery and Art Magazine; Maya Chachava, Artist and Associate Professor at Central Washington University. They looked closely at all the art, judging for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place in eight categories.
