Beacon Learning Center

Beacon Learning Center is an online educational resource and professional development center currently funded through a Technology Innovation Challenge Grant from the U. S. Department of Education (2000-2005). The resources posted in the Beacon database are products of professional development activities teaching a standards-based planning model. While aligned to the 1996 version of Florida's Sunshine State Standards, they remain educationally sound resources for teachers. 

BetterLesson

BetterLesson is a social curriculum management site where educators develop and share high-quality lessons, best practices, and ideas. Featured files are broken down by elementary, middle school, and high school for math, science, social studies, and English aligned to the Common Core. (Provided by BMGF) 

Connexions

Connexions is a place to view and share educational material made of small knowledge chunks called modules that can be organized as courses, books, reports, etc. Subjects covered include the Arts, Business, Humanities, Mathematics and Statistics, Science and Technology, and Social Sciences. Anyone may view or contribute:

• instructors rapidly build and share custom collections
• learners find and explore content

Curricki is more than your average website; they are a community of educators, learners and committed education experts who are working together to create quality materials that will benefit teachers and students around the world. Curriki is an online environment created to support the development and free distribution of world-class educational materials to anyone who needs them. 

HippoCampus

HippoCampus is a project of the Monterey Institute for Technology and Education (MITE). The goal of HippoCampus is to provide high-quality, multimedia content on general education subjects to high school and college students free of charge. 

Idaho Total Instruction Alignment

The Idaho Total Instruction Alignment provides a breakdown of the Common Core State Standards with sample ELL, Task Analysis, Vocabulary, Sample Assessment Item, and Materials & Resources.

instaGrok

instaGrok is a discovery and learning engine that lets you punch in any search item and get a neatly formatted and interactive experience as search results including quizzes, pinning, and interactive journaling. This site is not aligned to standards.

Internet4Classrooms

Internet4Classrooms is a free web portal designed to assist anyone who wants to find high-quality, free Internet resources to use in classroom instruction, developing project ideas, reinforcing specific subject matter areas both in the class and at home and even for online technology tutorials.

Marzano Proficiency Scale Banks

Marzano Proficiency Scale Banks is a tool that provides scoring guides and sample tasks for the Common Core.

Mastery Connect

MasteryConnect makes it simple to share and discover common formative assessments and track mastery of state and Common Core standards.

Measurements of Student Progress (MSP)

Washington State’s Measurements of Student Progress (MSP) website provides instruction on logging in, navigating between questions, inputting text and math symbols. Users can also find out how to get hints, how to type a response, and play all of the videos for the subject and grade selected in sequence.

North Carolina Department of Public Instruction

The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction has unpacked the Common Core State Standards. This resource serves as good source of example problems related to each individual standard. Select the appropriate content area to open a document like the following 4th Grade Math example. 

Open Educational Resources

Open Educational Resources helps users find free to use teaching and learning content from around the world aligned to the Common Core. Subjects covered include the arts, business, humanities, mathematics and statistics, science and technology, and social sciences.

SAS Curriculum Pathways

SAS Curriculum Pathways is an interactive, standards-based resource for grades 6-12 in English language arts, science, social studies, mathematics, and Spanish. Free to students and educators.

TEDEd Lessons Worth Sharing

TED Ed lets viewers employ engaging videos to create customized lessons. You can use, tweak, or completely redo any lesson featured on TED-Ed, or create lessons from scratch based on any video from YouTube. 

TES

TES Teaching Resources is where teachers share and download free lesson plans,classroom resources, revision guides and curriculum worksheets. 

Thinkfinity

Thinkfinity is a web site that brings teachers the best online educational resources for free. Through partnerships with 11 of the most trusted names in education, this site offers premier materials that enhance teacher effectiveness and improve student achievement. 

UDL Guidelines

The National Center on Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Guidelines are organized according to the three main principles of UDL that address representation, expression, and engagement. For each of these areas, specific "Checkpoints" for options are highlighted, followed by examples of practical suggestions. Like UDL itself, these guidelines are flexible and should be mixed and matched into the curriculum as appropriate. The UDL guidelines are not meant to be a "prescription" but a set of strategies that can be employed to overcome the barriers inherent in most existing curricula. They may serve as the basis for building in the options and the flexibility that are necessary to maximize learning opportunities for all students. Educators may find that they are already incorporating many of these guidelines into their practice.

Watch Know Learn

WatchKnowLearn.org provides free educational videos for all content areas aligned to the Common Core where applicable. The site includes videos for teachers as well.
