Most students who are enrolled in a Washington State school during their 7th or 8th grade years will take Washington State History as part of their middle school courses. Students who do not complete the course during middle school or transfer from a school outside of the state will have the opportunity to complete the course online.

State Assessments

The state legislature passes laws that determine graduation requirements. One of the requirements is that students pass tests, or state-approved alternatives. Required tests vary by expected year of graduation.
