Washington State Graduation Pathways

In 2019, the Washington State Legislature passed HB 1599 which provided students with multiple pathways to graduation.  It expanded the way Washington students can show their readiness for their next step after high school.  The graduation pathway requirement builds off a students High School and Beyond Plan, which helps a student prepare for what comes after high school graduation.

As part of a students graduation requirement they will need to meet a Graduation Pathway.  This pathway is one of the many ways in which a student can demonstrate readiness for a meaningful first step after high school.  There are multiple ways students can meet this requirement throughout their 4 years at Wenatchee High School.  One thing to remember is that the graduation pathway needs to align with a students High School and Beyond Plan and that counselors are here to help guide students to the right pathway.

There are 7 pathways that Wenatchee High School offers where students can earn this graduation pathway requirement.

Non ELA/Math Specific

  • Career & Technical (CTE) Course Sequence
  • ASVAB (Military Entrance & Career Exploration Assessment)

Post Secondary Education
A combination of any of the next 5 options, as long as one is ELA based and one is Math based

  • SAT / ACT
  • AP Classes or AP Tests
  • Dual Credit classes through Running Start or College in the High School
  • Smarter Balance Assessments
