Accepted district assessment dates are posted in an online calendar. Please contact your school for their scheduled testing dates.

• State Assessment Calendar 
  • The WIDA Screener is administered to identify and support students who are learning English. This assessment is administered within the student's first 10-days of in-person school attendance. 
  • Although an assessment, WaKIDS is best known as an 'inventory of skills'. This assessment supports students as they begin Kindergarten and Transition-to-Kindergarten Programs. With the support of our student's families, WaKIDS is administered in small increments between August 26–November 6, 2026. 
  • Students who are identified as English Language Learners will take a WIDA assessment mid-winter to determine their understanding of the English language. Your child's school will set their testing schedule between January 25–March 19, 2027.
  • Springtime state and federally required assessments are scheduled by OSPI from April to June. Students in grades 3–8, 10 will be tested once in English-language Arts and Mathematics. Students in grades 5, 8, 11 will test once for Science. Schools create their own testing schedule and will set a shorter testing window during the state's April–June testing window.
