Understanding Learning Standards

The Washington State K-12 Learning Standards are grouped by subject area that define what all students need to know and be able to do at each grade level.

• National PTA Four-Page Parent Guides to learning standards explain what students should know and be able to do at each grade level. The guides are available in English and Español.
• Top 8 Questions Parents Ask Teachers is a Q&A resource authored by Student Achievement Partners' Core Advocate teachers.
• Parent Roadmaps by Council of Great City Schools for Math and ELA at each grade level.
• ReadyWA parent guides for Washington Learning Standards, Assessments, and Planning.
