WHS Preliminary Design Process Nears Finish Line — Board Vote Scheduled for June 23

The Wenatchee School District and architect firm Integrus wrapped up a busy and meaningful week of community engagement as the preliminary design process for a modernized Wenatchee High School moves into its final stretch.
The team took the conversation to the community — meeting families and residents at La Terraza in Downtown Wenatchee and Touch-A-Truck at WVC — before holding final meetings with the Student Design Advisory, Staff Design Advisory, and Community Design Advisory committees. At each meeting, Integrus presented a conceptual floor plan for a modernized WHS that reflects months of community input.
The plan preserves existing structures that are in good condition and hold significant value — including the pool, gyms, locker rooms, weight room, music classrooms, and auditorium — while building new spaces to replace and connect the rest of the campus. This saves the district upwards of $20-25 million on the project. New construction would include classrooms, commons, cafeteria, library, and other core school spaces, creating a fully modernized, connected campus designed for today's learners.
What's next:
- Integrus will use the conceptual plan to finalize construction costs, which will be presented to the School Board on June 10.
- The Board is then scheduled to take action on a final resolution to place the bond — including the final cost — on the November 2026 ballot at their June 23 meeting.
The district will continue collecting feedback through its online feedback form through the summer to help further refine the bond project.
