Superintendent’s Advisory Council
Student voice matters to us.
Students have unique viewpoints on major issues faced by WSD and come to our schools with different lived experiences. The purpose of the Superintendent's Advisory Council (SAC) is to ensure that students are seen, valued, and heard at the highest level of decision-making in the district. The SAC meets with the Superintendent regularly and provides feedback and recommendations on topics and issues that impact students. Involvement in the SAC provides students with a powerful leadership opportunity and teaches them to be proactive in decisions that affect their day-to-day lives.
Who can serve?
The council is made up of students from WestSide and Wenatchee High School. Student representatives come from different backgrounds and ideas. There is no GPA requirement, so that all students, no matter their academic standing, have a voice.
Selected students must demonstrate an interest in leadership and advocacy and be willing to speak in public and communicate effectively with the Board of Directors, school district staff, and parents. Students must also be willing to engage other students to gather their input and perspectives.
