Help Us Keep Meals Free—and Save on School Activities
Every family matters! Even though breakfast and lunch are free for all students at Wenatchee School District, we need your help to keep it that way—and to unlock savings on school activities for your family.
It Keeps Meals Free for Everyone
The information you provide helps secure crucial federal funding that allows us to continue offering free, nutritious meals to every student, every day. When you complete the application, you're helping ensure all students—including yours—have access to healthy breakfasts and lunches that fuel learning and growth.
It Unlocks Savings for Your Family
Completing this application may qualify your student for reduced or waived fees for:
- Associated Student Body (ASB) fees
- Athletics and sports participation
- School events like dances and activities
- Extracurricular clubs and programs
- School camps and field trips
Plus, all household members listed on the application receive reduced admission to school events. These savings add up and make it easier for your student to fully participate in everything school has to offer!
How to Apply
Complete one application per household and return it to your student's school right away. The sooner we receive it, the sooner eligible fee waivers can be applied to your student's account—so they won't have to pay upfront for ASB, athletics, or other activities.
Already Receiving Benefits?
If your family receives Basic Food (SNAP), TANF, FDPIR, or has been directly certified for free meals, you likely qualify for fee reductions! Just complete the Consent to Share Form and submit it to your child's school so we can apply these savings to your account.

Peanut and Tree Nut FAQ
Our first priority is the safety of your children. Because allergies of all types can be worrisome, especially nut allergies, our goal is to provide you with as much information as possible so you can effectively manage your child’s condition.
IMPORTANT: Wenatchee School District is NOT nut free. Your child may come into contact with peanuts and tree nuts in the course of their day while attending any Wenatchee School District property.
Q: What items that are made or served by the WSD Nutrition Services Department contain nuts?
A: The Nutrition Services Department does not knowingly serve any peanut or tree nut products at any
of our elementary schools, Westside High School or Valley Academy. We may offer various peanut or tree nut products at our other secondary schools. These may include: Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches, Energy Wraps, Muffins, Factory Packaged Peanuts and/or Tree Nuts, Granola-type Snack Bars and/or other packaged products containing nuts and seeds and/or that may have been manufactured in the presence of peanuts and/or tree nuts.
It is important to note that ALL of the cookies we make are made on a machine that was likely used to process cookies containing peanut and tree nuts and in kitchens where peanuts and tree nuts are used. Depending on the severity of the nut allergy, you may want to consider this fact when determining what or if your child can eat what is provided at school.
Q: When my child gets a sack lunch from the WSD Nutrition Services Department for a field trip or other off-site event, are nuts used in those lunches?
A: No. Our sack lunches will never knowingly contain peanuts or tree nuts (PB&J sandwiches or cookies containing nuts). However, remember that WSD is NOT nut free and your child’s sack lunch may be made in the presence of nuts or in kitchens where peanuts and tree nuts are used.
We also place “Contains Nuts" signs identifying items containing nuts at the places where these items are served similar to the example at the top of this page.

Fresh from Our Community to Your Student's Plate
Good food starts close to home! Wenatchee School District is proud to participate in the Farm to School Grant program, connecting students with fresh, locally sourced ingredients from right here in the Wenatchee Valley.
Through this grant, we're able to bring more Washington-grown fruits, vegetables, and other products into our school cafeterias—supporting local farmers while serving students nutritious meals that taste amazing. Students get to enjoy fresh produce from the community they call home, while learning where their food comes from and how it gets to their plate.
Farm to School means:
- Fresh, locally sourced ingredients in school meals
- Hands-on learning about nutrition, agriculture, and our local food system
- Support for Wenatchee Valley farmers and producers
- Delicious meals that connect students to their community
