School Libraries: Where Curiosity Meets Unlimited Potential

Our school libraries are more than collections of books—they're vibrant learning hubs where students explore, discover, and grow.

At Wenatchee School District, our library programs support students in mastering academic standards across all subject areas while fostering a lifelong love of reading and learning. From kindergarten through high school, our libraries provide flexible resources, technology, and instruction that help every student reach their unlimited potential.

What Our Teacher-Librarians Do

Our Teacher-Librarians are instructional partners who work alongside classroom teachers to help students succeed. They collaborate with educators to integrate information literacy and technology into curriculum, ensuring students have the tools and skills they need to thrive in school and beyond.

Teacher-Librarians support students by:

  • Teaching digital citizenship and ethical use of information
  • Providing instruction on emerging learning technologies
  • Helping students navigate research and evaluate sources
  • Promoting a culture of reading within the school community
  • Supporting high school students with their High School and Beyond Plans
  • Offering individual guidance tailored to each student's needs

Thoughtfully Curated Collections

Our library collections are carefully selected to provide balanced perspectives and diverse voices. The superintendent establishes procedures for selecting materials that support media literacy and reflect a range of sources and viewpoints.

Have a concern about library materials?
We welcome input from families and staff. If you wish to express a concern about specific material in our library collection, you can follow the procedures outlined in Procedure 2021P. Please note that the criteria for reconsidering library resources differs from the criteria for reconsidering classroom or curricular instructional materials.
