The Wenatchee School District is proud to welcome Madeline Austin as our new School Resource Officer.

Madeline is a hometown success story, having grown up right here in East Wenatchee. Her path to serving our schools reflects a deep commitment to community. She served four years in the U.S. Navy, then spent two years as a dispatcher with RiverCom, where she learned firsthand what it takes to respond calmly and effectively when it matters most.

For the past four and a half years, Madeline has served as an officer with the Wenatchee Police Department — work that demands sound judgment under pressure, patience, and a genuine care for the people you're sworn to protect. That foundation of trust is exactly what she now brings to our schools.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Law & Justice from Central Washington University and is currently pursuing her Master's in Public Administration, continuing to grow both as an officer and as a leader in our community. Madeline is looking forward to making a positive difference in the lives of our students — building meaningful relationships, being a positive presence, and serving as a role model they can look up to.

Outside of work, she's a proud cat mom to her orange kitty, Archibald.
