The Wenatchee School District is now accepting applications for two open school board positions. The Board will appoint candidates to serve in the two vacant at large positions for a term of two years, which is the next regularly scheduled board election.
Eligible applicants must be United States citizens, registered to vote and live within the Wenatchee School District boundaries.
Interested candidates are asked to submit an application by Monday, January 6 at 4 p.m. Applications can be completed online at wenatcheeschools.org or paper copies can be obtained at the District’s administration office at 235 Sunset Avenue, Wenatchee. Paper copies can be returned by mail to PO Box 1767, Wenatchee, WA 98807-1767 or dropped off in-person at the District office. Application materials are available in both English and Spanish.
The Board will review applications starting at 5 p.m. on January 6 to determine which candidates will be offered an interview. A public announcement of the candidates selected for interviews will be made by the Board upon completing their review. Interviews will take place during an open public meeting on Thursday, January 9 starting at 5 p.m. All candidates will be notified of the Board’s final selection by Friday, January 10.
Selection Process Timeline:
Applications Deadline: Monday, January 6 at 4 p.m.
Board Application Review and Interview List Announcement: Monday, January 6 at 5 p.m.
Interviews: Thursday, January 9 starting at 5 p.m. during an open meeting.
Appointment: The Board intends to make an appointment at their regular meeting on January 14.
Should the board fail to fill a vacancy within ninety (90) days from the creation of such vacancy, the educational service district board members shall fill such vacancy.
