Ready for Kinder Info & Registration Night

Ready for Kinder Info & Registration Night

Wenatchee School District is hosting an information and registration session for incoming kindergarten parents on March 22, 2023.

Children who will be five years old on or before August 31, 2023, are eligible to attend full-day kindergarten in the Wenatchee School District. Parents and families with eligible children are encouraged to attend an in-person information and registration night at Wenatchee High School in the commons from 6:00-7:30 PM. District staff and teachers will cover various topics to equip kinder families with important information aimed at helping to ease their child’s transition to kindergarten. Families can also complete the district’s kindergarten application on-site with help from staff.

Topics covered during the ready-for-kinder info session include

  • What to expect during kindergarten
  • Daily Schedule
  • Riding the bus
  • School meals
  • Health & safety
  • School supplies
  • At home kinder readiness activities and resources

“It’s both an exciting and anxious time for kindergarten parents, " said Assistant Executive Director of Learning & Teaching Dr. Kory Kalahar. We want to meet our families, answer their questions and ensure our kinder parents have the support they need to transition to our schools successfully.”

Spanish translation assistance and childcare are available during the Ready for Kinder night.

Parents can register their eligible children using an online application on the District’s website, wenatcheeschools.org, starting March 1. In addition to the online application, the following documents are required to complete the registration process.

  • Certificate of Immunization Status (CIS) signed by a doctor or health provider
  • Child's birth certificate
  • Proof of residence (utility or rent bill - showing name and address)
  • Emergency contacts (2 names, addresses, and phone numbers)

Parents of children enrolled in District preschool will not need to complete a new registration form for their child. Additional required paperwork, immunization records, and proof of residency are still needed.
