Bryan Brockie, Director of Maintenance and Operations, is the 2023 Cindy Acosta Award recipient for Outstanding Risk Management

Wenatchee School District’s Director of Maintenance & Operations, Bryan Brockie, has been selected as the 2023 Cindy Acosta Award for Outstanding Risk Management recipient.

The Washington Association of School Business Officials (WASBO) Risk Management Committee created the Cindy Acosta Award in 2006 to recognize the contribution of an outstanding Risk Manager in WASBO. The award is named in memory of Cindy Acosta, a beloved Risk Manager from the Sumner School District who passed away in 2006.

North Central Educational Services District Loss Control Specialist, Paul Harrison, nominated Bryan for the award. “I nominated Bryan due to his continuous support and efforts to make Wenatchee schools a safe and inviting place for employees to work and students to attend. I appreciate Bryan and his willingness to always find ways to reduce risk and accidents at the district,” said Harrison.

Harrison and a team from WASBO surprised Brockie with the announcement that he was the winner during a Zoom meeting this week.  Brockie will be recognized at the WASBO annual conference in May and receive a $200 check from the Cindy Acosta scholarship fund for his dedication and hard work.
