Wenatchee Big Horns Bring Smiles and New Shoes to Mission View Students

The Wenatchee Big Horns basketball team recently partnered with Samaritan's Feet to host a shoe distribution event at Mission View Elementary. The event, organized by Big Horns owner Shawn Cooprider, provided 486 students with new shoes, socks, and bags.

The day was filled with excitement as students received their new shoes and had the opportunity to interact with Big Horns players and volunteers. Music, flashing lights, and basketball-themed activities created a fun and game-time atmosphere.

Kathy Slyder, Regional Development & Sports Initiative Manager with Samaritan's Feet, emphasized the importance of the event, noting the poor condition of many students' shoes and the joy that a new pair can bring. Samaritan's Feet is a non-profit organization that believes new shoes can provide hope, opportunity, and improved well-being for children in need.

The remaining shoes from the event will be kept at Mission View to provide for new students and those who may need replacements in the future.
